Signing up and logging in
I can’t find my branch in the list.
Type part of your town’s name, or your county, in the search box above the branch list. If it really isn’t there, your branch may not be on the site yet: choose the nearest branch for now and ask your local Legion branch to get in touch with the site administrator.
I’ve forgotten my password.
On the Log in page, click Forgotten your password? and enter your email. We’ll send a link to choose a new password; it works for one hour. Check your junk or spam folder if it hasn’t arrived within a few minutes.
It says there’s already an account with my email.
You’ve signed up before, perhaps last year. Log in, or use Forgotten your password? to set a new password.
It says too many attempts.
After several wrong passwords in a row we pause logins for 15 minutes to keep accounts safe. Wait a little, or reset your password.
Can under-18s sign up?
Accounts are for adults. Young people are very welcome to collect as part of a group, such as Brownies, Scouts or Cadets, booked by their adult leader using the number of people when booking.
Booking shifts
How do I book for my whole group?
When you book a shift, change Just me to the number of people coming (up to 20) and add the group’s name. One booking covers everyone. You can only book as many people as there are places left.
Why can’t I see any shifts?
Your branch may not have put this year’s shifts up yet, or they may all be full: tick Show full shifts to check. Also make sure you’ve chosen the right branch on the Account page.
Why can’t I book a shift?
Either it filled up while you were looking, it has already started, or it overlaps another shift you’ve booked. You can’t be in two places at once.
Can I book shifts at a different branch?
You see one branch at a time. Change your branch on the Account page to see and book that branch’s shifts. Shifts you’ve already booked stay booked.
I didn’t get a confirmation email.
Check your junk or spam folder. Your booking is still safe either way: it’s listed under My shifts.
Changing plans
How do I cancel a shift?
Go to My shifts and click Cancel. You can do this up to 24 hours before the shift starts.
The Cancel button has gone.
The shift starts in less than 24 hours, so please contact your branch organiser directly so they can find cover. Their email is shown next to the shift if your branch has given one.
I got an email saying my shift was cancelled.
Your organiser has removed that shift, perhaps because the shop changed its plans. Please book another time on Book a shift.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Account and click Delete my account at the bottom. This removes your details and cancels all your shifts.
For organisers
How do I become an organiser for my branch?
When you sign up, choose A branch organiser. The site administrator checks requests and you’ll get an email once you’re approved. Already have an account? Ask the site administrator or an existing organiser in your branch. See the Organiser guide.
Will I be told when someone new signs up?
Yes. Each branch organiser gets an email whenever a new volunteer signs up with their branch.
Someone booked by phone. How do I add them?
On the Rota tab, find the shift and click Add someone by hand. Enter their name, phone and how many people. They don’t need an account.
A volunteer can’t make it and it’s too late for them to cancel.
On the Rota tab, click Remove next to their name. Their place becomes free for someone else to book.
I made shifts at the wrong times.
On the Shifts tab, tick the wrong ones, click Delete ticked shifts, then create them again. Anyone already booked on them is emailed, so do this quickly.
How do I change our branch’s contact email?
Ask the site administrator. It’s the address volunteers see when they need to reach the branch.
Can someone help me run the rota?
Yes. On the Volunteers tab, click Edit next to them and change their role to Branch organiser. They’ll get an email telling them.
A volunteer can’t log in and has no access to their email.
On the Volunteers tab, click Edit, correct their email address, save, then press Email a password reset link.
Privacy and the site
Who can see my details?
Your first name and initial (e.g. “Dale S.”) appear on your branch’s rota, on the Who’s collecting page, so everyone can see who’s doing what. Groups are shown by name. Your phone number and email are only seen by your branch organisers and the site administrator. The full details are in the Privacy notice.
Can I see what you hold about me?
Yes. On your Account page, press Download my data.
Can I stop the branch emails?
Yes. On your Account page, untick Send me the occasional email from my branch. You’ll still get confirmations for shifts you book.
Does the site use cookies?
Just one, to keep you logged in. No advertising or tracking. See Cookies.
Is there an app?
You don’t need one. Add the website to your phone’s home screen and it works like an app, with a poppy icon. Here’s how.
Still stuck?
For anything about a shift, the place you’re collecting or the day itself, contact your branch organiser, or your local Legion branch.
